Depth of Field
Depth of field is the slice of your scene that stays acceptably sharp. It shrinks as you open the aperture, lengthen the focal length, or move closer to your subject. Knowing where that window sits lets you deliberately blur a busy background or keep a sweeping landscape sharp from foreground to horizon.
Near limit
2.8 m
Far limit
3.23 m
Total DoF
43 cm
Hyperfocal
41.72 m
- →Smaller f-number = shallower depth of field.
- →Longer focal length = shallower DoF at the same framing.
- →For landscapes, focus at the hyperfocal to keep everything sharp to infinity.
